A new case study is now available that presents the details of a challenge faced by Conversion Technologies International (CTI), the solution k-Space provided (a custom roll-to-roll thickness metrology tool), and the results of implementing that solution for CTI.
CTI is a contract coater and laminator, dedicated to providing hot melt and water-based adhesive coatings, lamination, slitting, and die-cutting services. They needed a customized hardware and software package that used laser displacement sensors to acquire, control, and analyze product thickness data.
The case study describes how k-Space developed a solution and the results they obtained, including the elimination of prior software run-out errors, accurate real-time thickness profile readouts that enabled operators and management to make quick decisions during the product run, and thickness profile storage in a local database for future review and analysis.
