Dear kSA400 Customer:

As a current kSA400 user, we would like to solicit your help in generating a RHEED image database for the benefit of all users.  The goal of this image library is for you to have reference RHEED images and movies, with embedded description, available within the kSA400 software and at your fingertips.  Questions like the following may be answered:

  • Sample Rheed ImageEver wonder how your oxide-desorbed GaAs (100) surface looks compared to what others see?
  • Or maybe you'd like to compare your 2x reconstruction to others?
  • Perhaps you'd like to test the ratio of InP [110], [100], and [112] streak spacings to see how well they correspond to expected values?
  • What does a 150 Angstrom layer of lattice matched InGaAs on GaAs look like?
  • Would you like to see what a less common surface looks like, say SrTiO3, or Cu (111), or MgO (100)?

We hope you will help us build this RHEED database.  If you would like to participate, simply email us at requestinfo@k-space.com (subject line:  RHEED Image Database Project), and we'll send you the free 1GB flash drive along with a second flash drive and self-addressed, pre-paid postage envelope to send back the files with (please include your preferred mailing address in the email).  We’ll also give you some details on how your images and movies should be described in the Comments section of the file, as well as an info card with a checkbox indicating whether you want your images to be anonymous or associated with your name and/or facility. We’ll take as many or as few images or movies as you’re willing to give us!

We think this will be a very helpful tool, and we hope that you will take the time to contribute some of your images and movies to the library.

Thanks in advance for your consideration and assistance.

Best regards,

Darryl Barlett
