k-Space offers the highest quality RHEED screens available.
We supply:
- screens with P43, P31, or P48 (fast) phosphor
- full or partial coat, and we do recoats as well
- all screens use X-ray attenuating glass
- all screens have a thin aluminum layer for grounding and stray light reflection
- Stainless steel screen holders that mount inside standard zero profile viewports, or
- Screens for standard six (6) inch and eight (8) inch o.d. viewports.
(3-D models require Windows® Internet Explorer® and installing eDrawings® when prompted.)

Rotation Monitoring and Triggering

The Rotation Monitoring and Triggering (RMAT) product was developed by k-Space to meet the needs of scientists and engineers who desire an accurate, programmable trigger source coupled to a rotation stage during thin-film deposition. With RMAT, the user can program precise trigger positions during rotation and use these triggers to initiate external events such as acquiring analytical images at specific rotation angles.
- Single dialog, Windows®-based software permits easy access to the functionality of the encoder.
- The encoder is equipped with a programmable logic controller allowing positions to be programmed on-the-fly while the shaft is rotating.
- Select up to four different trigger positions with precision to 0.088 degrees (12-bit) out of the full 360 degrees of rotation.
- Trigger output is TTL-level and accessible though the encoder cable. The trigger pulse width is programmable and can be set in the range of 1-255 msec.
- (Optional) Because the RMAT system must be coupled to a rotational manipulator or shaft, k-Space can supply a custom shaft couple and encoder mounting plate upon request.

Pulse Control
The kSA Pulse Control kit is a pulse generator and pulse counter system. The kit is designed as a simple, inexpensive, programmable pulsed waveform source for triggering events and instrumentation. A common use of the Pulse Control kit is in Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD), whereby the laser pulse rate and number of pulses is controlled through the Pulse Control kit. Any application that needs a triggered or timed input can make use of kSA Pulse Control.
kSA Pulse Control utilizes a PCI-based 9513 counter/timer module and easy-to-use Windows NT/2000/XP software to allow the user to generate square waves of any frequency in the range of 0.00077 Hz to 500.00 kHz. Pulse trains of a user-specified number of pulses may also be generated, real-time counted and displayed. Pulse trains can also be paused and resumed per the user’s discretion. The pulses are TTL-level and are true square wave. The kSA Pulse Control software is easy to use, with a single dialog box for entering all the parameters needed for pulse generation.
