"Sentinel Key Not Present Error" After Upgrading to Windows XP or 2000 If you are getting a "Sentinel Key Not Present" error message and have recently upgraded your computer operating system to Windows XP or 2000 and are still using an older parrallel port dongle you may need an updated sentinel key driver. Please download SSD5411-32bit.exe from our ftp site. Sony Recall On ICX424AL Sensors If you are experiencing distorted video or black video using the 60D camera and are not getting any error messages please contact our technical support staff. Sony has issued a recall on the ICX424AL sensors used in these cameras produced between October 2002 and September 2003. The problem is due to a wire bond failure which may cause the sensor to fail over time. Upgrading Computer Operating System Please contact our technical support staff if you are planning to upgrade your computer operating system. Specific data and system parameters need to be properly saved before any operating system changes are made to ensure that your kSA 400 will continue to function correctly. Please be advised that you could lose important system information if the correct data is not saved. "Sentinel Key Not Present Error" Windows '98 If you are running a kSA application under Windows '98, and you intermittently get a "Sentinel Key Not Present" error message while running the application, subsequently shutting down the application, then the sentinel driver was not properly loaded during the installation of the product. Please download the following zip file from our ftp site: sentinel.zip. Once you have downloaded the file, unzip it to a directory called "Sentinel" on your local hard drive, making sure that the subfolder paths are maintained when unzipping, i.e. there should be several subfolders created with files in them. Once you have done this, run the Setup.exe program from the Sentinel folder, and step through the installation to properly install the sentinel key driver. This will eliminate the "Sentinel Key Not Present" error message. Live Video Flicker Under Extended Exposure Times If you see live video flicker when extending the exposure time beyond 30 msec using the kSA 400 System, then you likely are using a Dell Dimension computer with a BIOS version greater than A03. Some of the later BIOS versions interrupt the parallel port when the mouse is moved, causing flicker of the extended exposure images. If you are experiencing this problem, please phone a k-Space technical support engineer at 734-668-4644 so that we can determine the proper BIOS for your computer and assist you with installation to alleviate this problem. Camera Exposure Time Becomes Unstable When the Computer's Mouse or Keyboard is Used kSA 400 users upgrading their computer may experience camera exposure problems when running at exposure times longer than 33.33ms. This usually occurs on newer computers with a 533 MHz or higher Front Side Bus. Exposure time is controlled through software via the parallel port and is incompatible with these faster buses. The problem occurs only when the computer's mouse or keyboard is used. The only solution is to upgrade the system's frame grabber to a PXR-800 analog unit. Please contact a k-Space technical support engineer at 734-668-4644 or email k-Space at requestinfo@k-space.com for details and pricing. Problems Exporting .tiff or .png Image and Chart Files If you are experiencing problems exporting .tiff or .png image and chart files, download tiff_png_export.zip found on our ftp site. Once you have downloaded the file, unzip it to the following directory C:\Program files\kSA\kSA400\Program. The kSA 400 exporting features should now run properly. If you need any additional help please contact a k-Space technical support engineer at 734-668-4644 or email k-Space at support@k-space.com for details and pricing. Slow Acquisition or No Application Response After Upgrading to Windows XP SP2 We have found a conflict with Windows XP SP2 and kSA 400. If you are experiencing slow acquisition or no application response after upgrading to Windows XP SP2 you will need to install a new driver for your PXR framegrabber. Please follow the steps below and if you have any problems contact a k-Space technical support engineer at 734-668-4644, we would be happy to step through the process with you.
