k-Space Associates, Inc. has been recognized as one of the “Michigan 50 Companies to Watch", for its work with thin-film stress monitoring technologies. "Michigan 50 Companies to Watch is a unique awards program designed to shine the spotlight on second-stage companies,” says Mark Lange, executive director of the Edward Lowe Foundation, a not-for-profit operating foundation based in Michigan.

Winners were selected by judges from the banking, economic development, entrepreneurship development and venture capital communities. Judges evaluated the nominees’ demonstrated intent and capacity to grow based on one or more of the following:

• Employee or sales growth.
• Exceptional entrepreneurial leadership.
• Sustainable competitive advantage.

kSA BandiT Now Features Substrate Temperature Mapping (10-5-2007)

The kSA BandiT Substrate Temperature Mapping is a software module which completely automates the control and acquisition of a complete wafer or platen temperature map. Through the use of a motorized detector and the home pulse from the growth chamber, the kSA BandiT with full wafer mapping provides spatially resolved temperatures across the entire optical collection area with millimeter resolution.

kSA 400 - Calculate Growth Rate In Real-Time (05-17-2005)

kSA 400 software previously featured three independent methods for calculating growth rate post acquisition. Now kSA 400 can also calculate real-time growth rate using Damped Sine Fit.

kSA MOS Ultra-Scan now on k-Space Website (04-22-2005)

Now you can find complete product information for the kSA MOS Ultra-Scan on our website, including all specifications.

Based on proven MOS technology, the fully integrated ex-situ kSA MOS Ultra-Scan maps the curvature of semiconductor wafers, optical mirrors, lenses, or practically any polished surface. Typical radius-of-curvature resolution is greater than 50 kilometers on samples up to 300mm in diameter.

BandiT Calibration Files Now Available on k-Space Website (03-09-2005)

The kSA BandiT system relies on calibration files to compensate for substrates of different material composition, thickness, polish, dopant level, and manufacturer. kSA BandiT users can now ensure that they have the most up-to-date calibration files by downloading them from the BandiT Support page on our website.

The files are password protected, so if you are a kSA BandiT user, please contact us for a username and password to access these files.

k-Space Distributor Sells First kSA MOS Ultra-Scan (02-22-2005)

Our Japanese distributor—Vieetech Japan Co., Ltd.—has sold the first kSA MOS Ultra-Scan. The Ultra-Scan can be used to map the curvature of semiconductor wafers, optical mirrors, lenses, or practically any polished surface. The standard system provides up to 150mm x,y scanning range with 1μm resolution. Scans are fully programmable for selected area, line scan, or full area map. The system also provides quantitative film stress with full area map by first scanning the bare substrate and then re-scanning the sample post-process.

Introducing kSA Mini RateRat (01-14-2005)

Proving that good things can come in small packages, k-Space has developed a mini version of our popular kSA RateRat deposition monitor. The kSA Mini RateRat can be held in the palm of your hand and performs real-time deposition rate and optical constant monitoring just like its bigger brother.

It's designed for normal incidence applications, including mounting onto the mini-conflat or similar optical access ports found on many MOCVD reactors. Within the unit is a focusing lens for handling variation in reflection angle due to substrate wobble.
